Our future looks great...

By Robert Charles, on May 6, 2010

The statement "now I've seen it all" just doesn't carry any weight anymore. It seems that simple phrase enters my mind on a nearly daily basis. Why did this phrase enter my mind today?

Five high school students were sent home from school today for wearing shirts with American flags on them.

Grijalva calls for boycott of Arizona businesses???

By Robert Charles, on Apr 20, 2010

As I said earlier, I may be campaigning in District 3 of Arizona, but I am also campaigning against politicians who just don't get it, such as Arizona state Representative Raul Grijalva.

Mr. Grijalva went on national news to call for a boycott of Arizona businesses. I can't make this stuff up: the guy actually wants companies in his home state boycotted. I don't need to emphasize how irresponsible and dangerous this is for a state already in tough economic times, or to emphasize how it could harm struggling small businesses.

Tax Day Thoughts

By Robert Charles, on Apr 15, 2010

There is only one person I know who might enjoy April 15th. April 15th is my sister’s birthday. Happy birthday, Sande.

Apart from her, the rest of us associate today with the dreaded act of paying taxes. Obama rolled into office calming our tax fears by stating that he would cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Did you notice a change this year? If not, apparently you’re not alone. A Gallup poll found that 63% of Americans believe their taxes will go up. Is this feeling unfounded?
